Παρουσίαση της νέας έκδοσης στη σειρά ‘Διαλέξεις για την ιστορία της νομισματοκοπίας’ του Πολιτιστικού Ιδρύματος της Τράπεζας Κύπρου. Με την ευκαιρία των είκοσι χρόνων λειτουργίας του μουσείου διοργανώνεται η παρουσίαση της νέας έκδοσης με τίτλο: "ΝΟΜΙΣΜΑΤΙΚΗ ΚΑΙ ΙΣΤΟΡΙΑ. Η περίπτωση της Κύπρου κατά τους αρχαϊκούς και κλασικούς χρόνους".
Η έκδοση είναι δίγλωσση (ελληνικά & αγγλικά) και αποτελεί μία εμπλουτισμένη εκδοχή της διάλεξης που η Δρ Ευαγγελινή Μάρκου έδωσε στις 8 Οκτωβρίου 2013 και αποτελεί την έκτη στη εκδοτική σειρά ‘Διαλέξεις για την ιστορία της νομισματοκοπίας’. 

Το διεθνές αυτό εργαστήριο στοχεύει στο να αναλύσει τη χρήση του νομίσματος και τις θρησκευτικές πρακτικές μέσω μιας διαχρονικής προσέγγισης η οποία θα καλύψει κυρίως τον αρχαίο ελληνικό και το ρωμαϊκό κόσμο.

Research in the Mediterranean area suffers from a real gap between archaeological recording and broader aspects of interpretation. This is not just historically conditioned but also results from the natural characteristics of the Mediterranean landscape. Architecture and urbanism in the ancient cities lend themselves very well to investigation. By virtue of their monumental importance, artistic value and easy accessibility the ruined remains of ancient structures have always been a focus of research. But from about the end of WW2 a new interest in landscape studies made its appearance in the Mediterranean area. Since the mid 1970s there has been an explosion of archaeological research in the majority of circum-Mediterranean countries. However, although millions of hectares of Mediterranean landscapes have now been surveyed by terrestrial reconnaissance, it is legitimate to ask: how many and which of the many possible questions have really been answered? 

Which of these have remained unanswered as a result of methodological inadequacies in the structure of landscape archaeology in Mediterranean contexts? Answering these questions – identifying biases, improving methodology, and implementing new technologies and practices – have been the driving force of my research work over the past two decades.

‘EMPTYSCAPES’ is an innovative project aimed at stimulating change in the way in which archaeologists in the Mediterranean world study the archaeology of landscapes, moving from an essentially site-based approach to a truly landscape-scale perspective."
