The drawings of the website

All the drawings found in the header sections of the website have been created especially for Kyprios Character by Rebecca Levitan. Rebecca is an art historian - archaeologist, interested in the art and architecture of the Hellenistic and Early Imperial periods.

For this project, she has created the drawings exclusively with graphite pencil and paper, rather than with the traditional pen and ink drafting.

All of the drawings have been inspired by the close study of ancient Cypriote coins (included in the numismatic database of the research project that will be soon accessible), as well as ancient Cypriote sculpture.
